SYNC / questions

Questions before you start.

Who SYNC is for, what you give it, who it writes to, what it cannot do yet, and how you leave. Twelve answers on one page.

01

Who is SYNC for?

SYNC suits a team that sells a service or product to businesses, knows who its good customers are, and has no time to research every account before writing. It works best today for companies selling in the Netherlands and Belgium. It writes in Dutch, English, German or French, chosen by where the account is.

02

What do I give SYNC on day one?

Your work email, and one sentence on how you recognise a good prospect. SYNC reads your company's site from the domain and shows you what it found, and you confirm or correct it. Optional: five to fifteen customers you have won or would like to win, and any documents you already have. You need no CRM, mailbox connection or card to start; you connect Outlook or Gmail when you want to send.

03

How will I know my first run is ready?

SYNC opens in January, and until then we keep your address and write to you when we open. You then sign in with your work email, confirm what SYNC learned about your company, and answer one question: how do you recognise a good prospect? Your first fifty companies are found and scored, and SYNC puts a task on your dashboard when they are ready.

04

How does SYNC decide which companies are worth working?

SYNC proposes up to twelve criteria, written from what it learned about your company and from how you recognise a good prospect. You can edit them: reword, weight or strike any of them before a run, and score again afterwards at no cost. Each company lands in a tier from A to D; A and B are worked, and C and D are left alone. A criterion without evidence is marked "could not establish" and is never guessed.

05

Where do the facts come from, and how old can they be?

SYNC researches companies from their careers pages, their own site, LinkedIn, the press and public register pages; email addresses and phone numbers come from a lookup provider. It keeps the page it read and the day it read it, reuses a page for at most seven days, and re-reads accounts you are working every week. Every signal, a change you can point to such as a new vacancy or a change of leadership, and every score links to its source. The business case is SYNC's reasoning from those facts.

06

Who is written to first, and how often?

SYNC maps the buying group in seven roles: economic buyer, champion, user, influencer, blocker, indifferent and unknown. In a contact plan, users hear first and buyers last, and blockers are never written to. A contact plan spaces people out: one new person at a time. At most three messages go to one person, and three to one account, in any seven days, and never twice to the same person within 48 hours.

07

What happens after a reply, and after silence?

A reply lands in the conversation, SYNC stops to reassess the account, and it drafts an answer in the same thread. An out-of-office is recognised and waited out; a "no" closes the conversation, and that address is never written to again, in any workspace. SYNC does not run a fixed sequence: after five days of silence the plan moves to the next people, and a bounced address is dropped. If the person names a time and your calendar is connected, SYNC can book it.

08

Can I edit what SYNC writes, and set rules for it?

Yes. Every draft waits on your release desk, and you can edit it before it goes out; nothing is sent until you release it. For each thing you sell, you set the maximum length, the sign-off, the kind of question a message may ask and the phrases it may never use, and a draft that breaks one of these is refused before you see it. It leaves under your name, with your signature, from your mailbox, and sits in your own Sent folder.

09

What does each connection do?

Outlook or Gmail sends your approved messages and reads the replies; a Google or Outlook calendar shows SYNC your free slots and takes the meeting when a prospect agrees to a time. You sign in on Microsoft's or Google's own screen, the connection is held by Composio, our connection provider, and SYNC never sees your password. HubSpot contacts sync both ways, or one way if you prefer; companies and deals are not synced. Salesforce and Pipedrive can be connected, but SYNC does not write to them.

10

Can I keep SYNC away from companies I already work with?

Yes. Paste in your client list, and those companies are held: no outreach goes to them.

11

What can SYNC not do yet?

It knows the Netherlands far better than anywhere else, and it writes Dutch, English, German and French, and no other language. It sends email only: LinkedIn is read for research, and LinkedIn messages and calls are tasks for you. A source under every sentence of a draft is not on the review screen yet; today you see the reason for writing, its source and its date. We publish no reply rates yet.

12

How does someone opt out, and how do I leave?

Anyone can ask not to be written to: the address is then blocked in every workspace, queued messages to it are cancelled, and a reply that says "stop" does the same. The public address for this is innovate@isyncso.com. To leave, ask us, and we export or delete your workspace data. We answer within one month.
